Our second son Bobby was born on May 2nd, 2018. Eleven days later he was admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland where we spent the next three months and ten days, minus a few days here and there where he was healthy enough to come home. Our Bobby passed away late in the evening on August 23rd, 2018 at 3 months and 21 days old, losing his battle with cancer. 4% of the Federal Cancer Research Budget is put towards pediatric cancer research as of 2018. Children, our future, are being diagnosed, entering outdated treatment plans, and are passing away every single day from this most horrible of things. At Bobby O's, in our son's honor, we aim to do everything we can to help in the endless fight against pediatric cancer by donating 20% of net proceeds to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center's Division of Pediatric Oncology.
About the Owner: Colin's love for cooking with fire came shortly after graduating Washington College in 2007. He purchased his first smoker to go along with his grill in 2014 and has been at it ever since. Over years Colin has managed dozens of events ranging from a small office lunch to a wedding with 150 people in attendance. In the spring of 2020 during the beginning months of the COVID-19 pandemic, Colin sought out to feed the front line medical personnel at several local area hospitals. All in all, over 500 nurses, medical technicians, doctors, and other personnel received a meal from Colin over the course of 4 events delivering food to the hospital staffs. "Barbecue connects us to our past, to a time without gas, anti-griddles, flash fryers and the like. Wood, fire, smoke. It's that simple." - Colin Soper
